TO FIND WORDS FOR THE ATROCITY

Indescribable what is happening in Germany.
In unison he Social Democrats (SPD) queue up behind the US-American President even though the ones who think rationally and keep themselves informed, know what a phony game is played. Nobody is wholly convinced that Osama Bin Laden organized the attacks and that the Taliban are backing him. So why this hasty and unconditional support for the President from Texas? Something is wrong here. But worst comes to worst and the Greens, who once started out as a peace party, voted for the war on their party congress with a vast majority. It sounds like a nightmare and we would not believe it if it wasn’t true. Again reality is worse than all imaginations.

Why have they lost their inhibition threshold? Do they know what is happening among the six million refugees, now that they are on the road in winter without food, without shelter from the cold? Do they know how a young family feels witnessing the death of their small children right now? Do they still remember what all this means on a purely humane level? Do they realize that they became responsible for the horrible death of hundreds of thousands of people? A vast majority expressed thanks to the incredible cynicism which Joschka Fischer, our foreign minister, used to say that one had to vote for the war because otherwise one would disappear from "the stage of the parties". As if the possibility would not exist anymore to have an effect from the basis of a party if one really cared. As if the possibility would not exist to use the time left in office to, by all means, truthfully inform the public and mobilize against injustice. And above all: would the Greens have voted with full conviction against this US-American war, they probably would not have disappeared from the stage of the parties but would have won new voters in the upcoming election. Why this blackmailing and bluffing? Who made the green ostriches support the indescribable injustice in Afghanistan? Who turned the heads and twisted the joints of the Kühnasts and Roths (Green party politicians) on which we so much would have liked to be able to count, so that they will not say one honest word anymore? What makes them be so afraid that they rather save their job than the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent people???

I thank all who did not play this game and I want to encourage them to continue with all their might. We will have to develop new forms of extra parliamentary peace work. Why are only so few left who keep their eyes opened to see what really is happening in the world? All we said thirty years ago about the US-American imperialism, was it all just nonsense? The US-American atrocities in Vietnam, in Central America, in Chile, were they only silly rumors? Their weapon shipping’s to all dictatorships of the world, were they just normal trade? Their military training schools against almost all liberation movements in the developing world, like the School of the Americas, were they just media lies?

The Social Democrats and the Greens know with whom they join hands here; and they know also that not Osama Bin Laden, but uncountable impoverished people, farmers, women and children are the victims of this decision. Why do they still do it, why do they vote for this lie and this barbarity, knowing that they are just lies and barbarities? Why don’t they help the victims? Why do they deny their human feelings? Why don’t they take binoculars and look what is happening there to people who never before heard about terrorism and who now will have to die because somewhere, someone took the decision to drop bombs on their country? The answer they present us with is: to support the USA in their fight against terrorism. Could ever a loving human being, a sentient soul give such an answer? Would a human being not certify everything before sending hundreds of thousands of fellow beings into death? Are they able to do it because Afghanistan is so far away? Have they really ever researched into the sources of terrorism? How can they be so sure that parts of it do not come from within America, the Israeli Intelligence (Mossad), not from circles around the Russian President Putin? Have they forgotten what interest US-American oil companies have in Afghanistan – just like the Russians before them? Don’t they realize and know that the attack of Afghanistan was prepared long before September 11th and just needed a catalyst? Or is all of this secretly tolerated and agreed with by now? We are confronted with an ungraspable situation. I have been told by some survivors of the German Fascism in what an ungraspable situation they have found themselves in the "Reichskristallnacht" in November 1938 when Jewish Synagogues and shops were burned and all knew "it" and still didn’t step in. The injustice happening now is no lesser. And this time it is Green politicians, ancient left-wings, ancient friends and companions who take part in it. I have no breath left to a meaningful reaction to it; I can only call out and plead to all who still have a heart in their body: Stop this madness! Something must be done or we all become co-responsible for a crime nobody will be able to recover from. We need a completely different world and we will do everything to implement it.
